Hoarding is considered to be a mental disorder, and form of OCD called Compulsive Hoarding. The hoarder presents with a compulsive behavior that leads to overly excessive "pack rat" behavior. Over 3 million people are affected by this disorder, that takes over not only their life, but their home, putting them at risk to losing their home, or becoming ill.
